Bajaj Pulsar N160 S and N160 SS Launched in India Starting at ₹1.33 Lakh

Bajaj Auto has expanded its popular Pulsar lineup with the launch of the all-new Pulsar N160 S and Pulsar N160 SS in India. Introduced as part of the brand's 25th anniversary celebrations for the Pulsar range, the two new motorcycles bring a host of upgrades including a more powerful 165cc engine, ride-by-wire technology, multiple riding modes and new electronic rider aids.

The Bajaj Pulsar N160 S is priced at ₹1,33,511, and the Pulsar N160 SS will set you back by ₹1,42,585 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The new variants sit above the standard N160, which will continue to remain on sale.

The biggest update comes on the mechanical front. The 165cc, single-cylinder power plant now features 4-valve technology. This has resulted in the power figure rising to 18.30 bhp from 15.80 bhp as seen on the 2-valve engine. Torque on the new engine has dropped marginally by 0.25 Nm at 14.4 Nm. The company also claims a 0–60 kmph sprint time of just 4.5 seconds, making it the quickest accelerating bike in the category.

The engine is paired with Bajaj's new Electronic Throttle Body (ETB), which it claims offers smoother throttle response. The new Pulsar N160 S and N160 SS now offer four riding modes – Rain, Road, Sport and Off-road. Each mode alters the motorcycle's throttle response to suit different riding conditions. The top-spec Pulsar N160 SS further benefits from traction control. Another segment-first feature is Crawl Technology, designed to make riding in heavy traffic less stressful. The system allows the motorcycle to move smoothly at low speeds in higher gears with minimal throttle input, reducing the need for constant clutch operation in stop-and-go conditions.

The Pulsar N160 SS gets a 5-inch TFT instrument console, replacing the conventional LCD unit. It’s also the first bike in its segment to offer Google Maps mirroring, allowing riders to display navigation prompts from their smartphone directly on the dashboard. 

On the cosmetic side, the motorcycle gets revised graphics, coloured alloy wheels, a more comfortable handlebar position, and a tweaked seat height.

While the overall streetfighter design remains familiar, Bajaj has introduced several cosmetic and ergonomic updates on the N160 SS to improve long-distance comfort without compromising its sporty riding posture. 

Both new variants will be offered in three colour options: Atlantic Blue, Pearl Metallic White, and Brooklyn Black. The 2026 Bajaj Pulsar N160 SS will compete with rivals such as the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, and Honda Hornet 2.0.
