BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition India Launch Set For September 7

BMW India has announced that it will be launching the 220i M Performance Edition on September 7, 2023. BMW has already opened bookings for the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition, which will be available exclusively in a Black Sapphire metallic paint job. Furthermore, the BMW 220i M Performance Edition will be sold in limited units and can be exclusively booked at the BMW Online Shop for Rs 1.50 lakh. Deliveries will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe currently sold in the country comes with two powertrain options. A 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 177 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There’s also a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel motor which puts out 187 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. Prices for the 2 Series Gran Coupe start at Rs 43.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The upcoming 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 177 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. BMW claims a 0 to 100 kmph time of 7.1 seconds. It too, like the petrol engine on the 220i M Sport and 220i M Sport Pro, will be paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Visually, the 220i M Performance Edition will sport The M Performance Front Grill, M Performance Alcantara Gear Selector Lever, along with other BMW ‘M’ Performance parts. Expect it to command a slight premium over the 220i M Sport Pro variant.
