BMW Motorrad Austria has partnered with Vagabund to develop a one-of-a-kind electric scooter, the BMW CE 02 x VAGABUND. This concept bike combines futuristic design with retro elements, appealing to a young urban demographic. It boasts several innovative features, which we will delve into further.
Vagabund is a design and manufacturing studio based in Graz, Austria, celebrated for its unconventional approach to product design. The studio has a history of reimagining existing products with a fresh perspective, merging functionality with aesthetics.
The BMW CE 02 x Vagabund concept has a plethora of interesting and unique features that set it apart. Its retro-inspired design is complemented by a removable Bluetooth speaker from Teenage Engineering, adding a touch of modernity. The bike's "electric exhaust" compartment cleverly conceals an umbrella, while the "running board with skateboard grip tape" gives it a sporty, urban edge. These elements, combined with its two-tone colour scheme, unique front fender, and yellow hoop, make the CE 02 x Vagabund a truly one-of-a-kind electric bike that's sure to turn heads.
The BMW CE 02 is an electric scooter from BMW Motorrad which is designed for urban environments. It's characterised by its unique design, combining elements of a scooter and a motorcycle. BMW positions it as a fun and stylish option for city commuting.
The BMW CE 02 electric scooter is expected to launch in India during the festive season, positioned below the recently launched BMW CE 04. The BMW CE 02 x VAGABUND is powered by an electric motor with 15 hp (11 kW) and 55 Nm which is driven by two removable 1.96 kWh battery packs. This setup enables the scooter to accelerate from 0-48 kmph in just three seconds and achieve a range of approximately 95 km on a single charge. With the optional quick charger, the batteries can be replenished from 0% to 80% in around three hours.
The CE 02 has a double-loop steel frame, USD fork, adjustable monoshock, and 14-inch wheels with tubeless tyres. Features include two ride modes, electric reverse gear, a 3.5-inch micro TFT display, USB-C charging, keyless ride, and single-channel ABS. Expected to be priced between ₹ 4 lakh to ₹ 5 lakh, the BMW CE 02 is to be manufactured by TVS in India.
