The BMW X3 is one of the most popular SUVs in the company’s India line-up and to keep things fresh, the Indian arm of the German carmaker has introduced a special edition of its diesel powertrain. The BMW X3 xDrive20d M Sport Shadow Edition launched at ₹74.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), is positioned as the most expensive diesel variant in the X3 line-up.

The design of the BMW X3 xDrive20d M Sport Shadow Edition features a sportier orientation with a blacked-out kidney grille along with BMW Laser Light embedded with blue accents that claim a throw of 650 meters. While the profile remains unchanged, the rear receives a gloss black treatment to its tailpipes adding a flair to the overall aesthetics. The company has also added a black treatment to its window graphics, and roof rails as well as its 19-inch alloy wheels. BMW is offering the X3 xDrive20d M Sport Shadow Edition in two paint schemes- Brooklyn Grey and Carbon Black.
The interior of the X3 xDrive20d M Sport Shadow Edition features the M Sport package that brings sports seats, an M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, M interior trim to the X3 SUV. The leather Vernasca upholstery, panoramic glass roof and welcome light carpet are standard across the range. However, BMW also has an all-black theme on offer, part of the Black Edition Package comprising of M performance rear spoiler, M side strip in frozen black & M side logo in high-gloss black. With the Carbon Edition Package, the X3 receives additional elements such as a gear lever in carbon fibre and an entry sill in carbon fibre.
Mechanically, the X3 xDrive20d M Sport Shadow Edition retains the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine producing 188 bhp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm @1,750 – 2,500 rpm. The BMW X3 accelerates from 0 -100 kmph in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 213 kmph, with power transferred to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
