BMW XM Label Launched In India At ₹3.15 Crore

BMW India has introduced the first-ever BMW XM Label in the country, a high-performance plug-in hybrid that caters to those seeking both exclusivity and extreme performance in their vehicles. This launch is part of a limited global production run, with only 500 units manufactured worldwide and just one making its way to India. Priced at an ex-showroom cost of ₹3.15 crore, the XM Label arrives as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU).

The BMW XM Label's design stands out with its muscular proportions and the extroverted styling typical of BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicles. The exterior features BMW Frozen Carbon Black Metallic paint, complemented by Toronto Red metallic accents on the kidney grille surround and rear diffuser. The illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille enhances its assertive look, while 22-inch M light alloy wheels and red callipers on the M Sports Brakes add to its sporty appeal.

The interior mirrors the striking exterior design, combining a black and red colour scheme with high-quality materials. BMW has employed Fiona Red/Black Merino leather upholstery for a distinctive, luxurious feel. The cabin is further accentuated by exclusive design elements, including diamond-shaped sections on the backrests and a "1 of 500" plaque signifying its rarity. An M-specific cockpit includes M multifunction seats, a BMW Curved Display, an M leather steering wheel, and carbon inlays in the gearshift paddles, enhancing the sports car-style driving experience. Additionally, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 20 speakers and a 1,475-watt amplifier ensures an immersive audio experience for all passengers.

The XM Label features the M HYBRID system, which combines an electric motor with a V8 combustion engine to deliver a combined maximum output of 737 bhp and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm. The combustion engine alone offers 577 bhp and a torque of 720 Nm, while the electric motor provides an additional 194 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Equipped with a high-voltage 25.7 kW lithium-ion battery, the XM Label offers a pure-electric driving range of 76 to 82 km. 

This plug-in hybrid SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph, which can be extended to 290 kmph with the optional M Driver’s Package. The vehicle includes an exclusive Boost Mode, identified by a special symbol on the left-hand shift paddle, which enhances the sporty driving experience. The XM Label's V8 engine delivers a signature exhaust note, and BMW IconicSounds Electric provides a unique acoustic experience when driving in pure-electric mode.

The XM Label incorporates BMW's M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, ensuring precise control, maximum traction, agility, and directional stability. The power is distributed variably between the front and rear axles, as well as between the left and right rear wheels. The Adaptive M Suspension Professional with Active Roll Stabilization adjusts damper forces using an M-specific characteristic, optimizing sportiness and comfort for varied driving conditions.

In terms of technology, the XM Label is equipped with BMW ConnectedDrive, offering a suite of features including Digital Key Plus, Emergency Call, Real-time Traffic Information, and Remote Services accessible through the MyBMW app. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes a 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display, a 12.3-inch digital information display, and a head-up display for seamless interaction. The vehicle also comes with the latest BMW Operating System 8.5, allowing occupants to control various functions through touch or voice commands.

With its plug-in hybrid system, the XM Label comes with a complimentary BMW Wallbox charger and installation, facilitating safe and convenient home charging. The car’s hybrid default setting intelligently manages the interplay between the combustion engine and the electric motor to maximize efficiency. The vehicle includes BMW EfficientDynamics technologies, such as electric power steering, hybrid-specific auto start-stop, active air flap control, and efficiency-optimized all-wheel drive, to further enhance fuel efficiency and driving dynamics.

Safety features in the XM Label are extensive, including six airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS), M Dynamic Mode (MDM), Attentiveness Assistance, and M Sport differential networked with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). Additional systems such as Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Active Roll Stabilization with Active Roll Comfort, and ISOFIX child seat mounting ensure both active and passive safety for occupants.

The vehicle is also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems. The Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View Camera helps in manoeuvring through tight spaces by controlling acceleration, braking, and steering. The Reversing Assistant records the last 50 meters driven, providing automatic steering assistance when reversing out of parking spots or narrow driveways.
