Classic Legends want to expand the footprint of the BSA brand globally
The legendary British brand BSA made its India debut on the 78th Independence day of our nation. BSA has been brought to the Indian market by Classic Legends, the custodian of the brand under the aegis of the Mahindra Group. The BSA Gold Star 650 is the first offering from the British brand and the new motorcycle pays homage to iconic models from BSAs historic past. The Gold Star 650 has been launched at an introductory pricing of ₹3-3.35 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will be available at 52 BSA dealerships across the country.

On the sidelines of the launch, Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends informed us that the BSA Gold Star 650 will soon go on sale in the USA and the Japanese markets. Currently, the BSA bike is on sale in Europe, Turkey and other international regions. The BSA Gold Star 650 is manufactured at the Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh, however Classic Legends had announced earlier this year that it will be setting up a new manufacturing facility in the UK as well.
With the launch of BSA, Classic Legends now has three brands on sale in the country as it had launched Jawa and Yezdi a few years back. The BSA Gold Star 650 is positioned as the most premium offering from the company and Anupam Thareja also confirmed that we could see more variants on this platform soon. With the addition of BSA, action in the 350-650cc segment has increased further, and for Royal Enfield, the undisputed segment leader, there’s one competition to tackle. The Gold Star 650 is the only rival to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which has had a free reign in India ever since its debut in 2018.
