BWM India Records Best-Ever Sales In 2023; To Launch 19 Products In 2024

BMW India has achieved its highest-ever sales in 2023, selling 14,172 units, a growth of 18 per cent compared to 2022. The figure includes 13,303 units sold under BMW and 869 units sold under the MINI brand, while Q4 of 2023 was also the best-ever quarter for BMW and MINI. In December 2023, the company saw its highest-ever monthly sales for BMW and MINI. BMW India comes in second place in sales performance of luxury carmakers in 2023, behind Mercedes-Benz (17,408 units), Audi India (7,931 units) and JLR India and Volvo Car India selling 3,582 units and 2,423 units, respectively.

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, “2023 has been a record-breaking milestone year for BMW Group India. All three brands – BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad – have delivered their highest-ever sales. We have the most desirable brands and luxurious products.”

In the PV segment, the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine continues to be the best-seller for the company, recording a 20 per cent growth from 2022, while the BMW X1 remains a favourite in the SUV segment, also receiving a 20 per cent growth. The BMW X7 is the second most sold SUV from the company, with an 11 per cent growth. The EVs contribute to 23 per cent of the total sales in 2023. MINI too performed well for the company, contributing 28 per cent to the total sales of the BMW Group in India.

The EV segment is also the most diverse from the carmaker with 5 models currently sold, with the iX being the top seller, recording 694 units. In the high-end spectrum of cars, the BMW i7, X7, 7 Series and XM continue to receive high orders and have grown by almost 88 per cent from the previous year.

For 2024, the company will introduce 19 products, including 13 cars and SUVs and 6 two-wheelers. From this, the most awaited product is the new BMW 5 Series along with the new BMW X3, MINI Countryman, MINI 3-Door hatch and the BMW R1300 GS.
