Nvidia announced the GeForce RTX 4080, 4070 Ti and 4070 Super GPUs.
At CES 2023, Nvidia unveiled new GeForce RTX 40 Super graphics cards and a wave of RTX-enabled laptops, along with developer tools and applications integrated with generative AI, to accelerate the adoption of generative AI technologies on PCs.
The company announced the GeForce RTX 4080, 4070 Ti and 4070 Super GPUs, powered by the latest Ada Lovelace architecture. These new graphics cards offer significantly improved performance for AI workloads compared to previous-generation RTX cards. Nvidia claims the RTX 4080 Super can generate AI video 1.5 times faster and images 1.7 times faster than the RTX 3080 Ti.
Starting this month, major PC manufacturers like Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will release new RTX laptops powered by the new GPUs. Nvidia says the latest laptops can provide an AI performance boost of 20x to 60x over systems using neural processing units alone.
On the developer side, Nvidia is releasing tools like Nvidia AI Workbench to help creators easily optimize and customize popular pre-trained models like GPT-3 using PC hardware resources. The company also announced updates to TensorRT and TensorRT-LLM that improve performance and support for new large language models.
Nvidia is also bringing new AI-powered applications to PCs using RTX technology. These include a tool for remastering classic games called RTX Remix, generative services through Nvidia ACE, and DLSS 3 support in over a dozen upcoming titles for dramatically boosted frame rates.
