Citroën India has launched the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition in India at ₹11.82 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The special edition of the subcompact SUV will be limited to 100 units and has a few cosmetic enhancements and new features. However, powertrain options remain the same as the standard C3 Aircross.
The Dhoni Edition is finished in a dual-tone paint scheme with a Comso Blue body and a White roof. It also gets ‘Dhoni Edition’ and ‘7’ graphics on the front and rear doors, respectively. Inside, the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition gets special Blue and White cushions and seat covers along with seat belt cushions finished in Blue and an illuminated sill plate. The Dhoni Edition also gets a dashcam, which can be expected to be available with C3 Aircross later. All of these are a part of a customised accessory package and Citroën says each of the 100 units will get a special goodie in the glove box. Furthermore, one lucky customer will also stand a chance to win a glove signed by Dhoni.
Under the hood, the C3 Aircross comes with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with 108 bhp and 190 Nm (205 Nm with the automatic transmission). It comes with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox as well.
While the standard C3 Aircross is available with a 5- and 7-seat configuration, the Dhoni Edition is only available with the latter. In terms of features, the C3 Aircross is available with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, keyless entry and more.
In terms of safety, the C3 Aircross comes with two airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist and more. However, Citroën India has announced that its models will come with additional safety features like six airbags, ISOFIX anchorages and rear seat belt reminders.
The standard C3 Aircross is priced between ₹8.99 - 14.11 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and rivals the likes of the Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor.
