Dolby Atmos FlexConnect Immersive Audio Unveiled, to Debut on TCL TVs

Dolby has announced its latest immersive audio technology, the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. Meanwhile, TCL has announced its partnership with Dolby Labs to bring Dolby Atmos FlexConnect to TCL's upcoming 2024 TV lineup.

This new immersive audio technology will allow TCL TV owners to easily add wireless speakers to create a customized Dolby Atmos home theatre experience tailored to their unique room setup and decor.

Dolby Atmos FlexConnect removes the hassle of placing speakers in optimal positions in a room by intelligently calibrating and balancing audio across the TV's built-in speakers and any additional wireless speakers, no matter where they are located. 

This should give users much flexibility to enhance their Dolby Atmos sound system over time.

Dolby Atmos FlexConnect key features:

• Enhance existing Dolby Atmos TV audio with the option to add wireless speakers placed anywhere in the room.

• Easy setup with no extra cables or equipment required. The TV automatically locates and calibrates added speakers using built-in microphones.

• Dynamic audio balancing that spreads sound optimally between TV speakers and wireless speakers based on their capabilities and positions.

TCL will launch its Dolby Atmos FlexConnect compatible wireless speakers line along with its 2024 TV models that support the new feature.

Dolby Atmos FlexConnect will first be showcased at IFA 2022, running on MediaTek's Pentonic Smart TV chipset. TCL is also hosting its 2023 Global Flagship Product Launch on August 29th, featuring a first look at the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect.
