The middle class sports bike category receives a new lease of life in Italy.
EICMA 2023 brought about good news for fans of 600 cc class motorcycles as the Honda CBR600RR made a comeback. The popular Honda 600 cc motorcycle has returned after a hiatus of six years in Honda’s European line-up. The highlight of the new motorcycle is its 600 cc four-cylinder engine. The new motor pumps out 119 bhp at a peaky 14,250 rpm and peak torque of 63 Nm arrives at 11,500 rpm. It features a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and a quickshifter.
The 2023 Honda CBR600RR comes loaded with a bunch of electronic aids such as five riding modes, cornering ABS, nine-level traction control system, wheelie control and rear lift control. Honda engineers have put in special efforts to improve the handling dynamics of the new motorcycle. The new Honda CBR600RR features a twin-spar aluminium frame which is suspended on a Showa Big Piston USD front fork and a monoshock. To improve its aerodynamic performance the CBR600RR also gets winglets which have been derived and developed using the learnings from Honda’s MotoGP racing experience.
The styling of the new Honda bike is similar to that of the Honda CBR1000RR. It looks sharp and the HRC graphics do make it look cool. We aren’t sure whether Honda has any plans to bring the CBR600RR to the Indian market as its focus mostly has been in the litre-class motorcycles with respect to its performance bike portfolio.
