For the new year, the middleweight adventure tourer gets a new look and bunch of added technological improvements.
Yamaha has revealed its refreshed 2025 Ténéré 700 adventure motorcycle in Milan. Without changing much, Yamaha has made some thoughtful improvements that should make it more rider friendly and accessible than before.
For starters, the most noticeable changes start with the motorcycle's face - a redesigned LED headlight system that looks more unified than before. The 15.9-litre fuel tank has also been shifted, and it sits lower and more forward, helping riders move more freely on the bike. Lastly, a new single-piece seat has been introduced instead of the two-piece seat design from before.
In a welcomed move, Yamaha also unveiled a new lower-height version of the Ténéré 700. This variant features reduced suspension travel and a lower seat height of 860 mm, making it more accessible to riders who find the standard model too tall.
The 2025 Ténéré 700 also gains several new technological improvements. Riders now get a 6.3-inch colour touchscreen display, smartphone connectivity, and USB-C charging. The bike also features two riding modes (Sport and Explorer) and improved ABS options that can be easily controlled through a dedicated button.
The 690 cc engine remains the same but gets updates to meet Euro 5+ emissions standards, and the 72.4 bhp and 68 Nm output remain unchanged. The gearbox has been refined for smoother shifting, and the clutch has been redesigned to avoid leg contact while riding - addressing a common complaint from current owners.
Yamaha is also launching a Rally version with extra off-road features, including enhanced suspension with more travel, titanium footpegs, aluminum engine guard, higher front fender, and a special Sky Blue color scheme inspired by Yamaha's historic Dakar race bikes. As for its India debut, Yamaha officials are tight lipped but we hope the Tenere does makes it way to India as demand for premium ADV bikes is increasing.
