Hero MotoCorp aims to retail two million units of the electric Splendor annually.
India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp is gearing up its Vida division towards electric motorcycles. It is highly likely that the country’s favourite commuter bike undergo a radical transformation. Yes, the Hero Splendor will finally go all-electric and the production model will most likely hit the market in 2027.
Not that electric Splendors have not existed in the market till now, but those have all been aftermarket builds. Reportedly, Hero has been working on the electric Splendor for the past two years at its CIT in Jaipur.
But that's not all -- Hero is also thinking global with its upcoming Vida Lynx. This electric dirt bike, planned for 2026, will be targeted at international markets with a limited production run of 10,000 units per year. For those looking for more powerful rides, Hero will also have two more electric motorcycles in the pipeline. These bikes will pack the punch of traditional 150 cc and 250 cc engines, and will cater to a younger audience.
Looking at the bigger picture, Hero has set an ambitious target: selling half a million electric vehicles annually by 2027-28. From everyday commuters to adventure seekers, Hero's new electric lineup aims to offer something for everyone, marking a bold shift from their cautious approach to the EV market.
