The new variant misses out on some key features to make the Pulsar more affordable
Bajaj has silently introduced a new cheaper variant of the Pulsar NS200. The new variant of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has started arriving at a few dealerships and it will be the most affordable variant of the 200 cc naked bike. As we can see in the pictures, the new Pulsar NS200 variant comes with a conventional telescopic fork instead of the USD fork as seen on the other variants. It also misses out on dual-channel ABS as the bike only gets a front ABS. Apart from these two changes, the bike remains similar to its siblings.

The styling and body panels are similar to the standard Pulsar NS200 and it also gets an LCD digital instrument console. On the mechanical side too there are no changes and the bike is powered by a 199.5 cc, single-cylinder and liquid-cooled motor churning out 24.1 bhp and 18.74 Nm of peak torque. It continues to feature a perimeter frame which is now suspended on a telescopic fork and a monoshock unit. The braking hardware, wheels and tyre size remain unchanged as well.
The new variant of the Pulsar NS200 will target more of the Tier-2 and Tier-3 city audience to make the bike more accessible for the pricing and thereby more popular. The current Bajaj Pulsar NS200 retails for ₹1.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and we expect the new variant to be at least ₹5,000-8,000 more affordable. Recently Bajaj Pulsar sales crossed the 2 crore sales landmark making it among the most popular bikes in the Indian market.
