Exclusive: Citroën C3 Aircross With 81 bhp Petrol Engine Coming Soon

Citroën India is all set to launch the C3 Aircross SUV with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine soon. The launch of the car according to our sources is in August but the date is yet to be confirmed. The C3 Aircross currently is only available with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (Puretech 110) and it offers 109 bhp and 190 Nm (205 Nm with AT). The addition of the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine (Puretech 82) will extend the range further. This will be a less powerful engine on the C3 Aircross as it will churn out 81 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. It is also likely to come with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Given that the range will be extended, this means that the C3 Aircross is likely to get even more accessible. The current range begins from ₹ 9.99 lakh and goes all the way up to ₹ 14.33 lakh. But with the introduction of the naturally aspirated engine, we expect that the range will begin ₹ 7.99 lakh.

Beside the engine, there are quite a few additions to the C3 Aircross SUV as well. 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 3-point seatbelts all around and seat belt reminders for all seats will be part of the standard equipment. There are a few changes on the inside too.

The naturally aspirated 1.2-litre engine will debuted with C3 and will be available in the Basalt as well, which will also be launched in a few days from now. You’ll get to know about the performance of the Basalt once our review is out on August 9.
