The Majestor was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 but the interior was completely under wraps.
JSW MG Motor India showcased the Majestor at the Auto Expo 2025 and it has now been spotted testing. While the test mule was under heavy camouflage, it does indicate that the launch of the full-size SUV is around the corner.
The spy shots also confirm a few things about the MG Majestor. The full-size SUV from the British-Chinese brand will have split headlamp design with thin LED DRLs on the top and large LED headlamps in the bumpers, a large grille, twin 7-spoke alloy wheel design, twin exhaust pipes and rectangular taillamps.
The interior of the Majestor is still under wraps and the spy shots only show that it will get grab handles on the A- and B-pillar. Interestingly, the Majestor gets a grab handle for the driver, while Gloster doesn’t. This could hint that the Majestor could be more off-road focussed than the Gloster. The spy shots also show that the upcoming MG SUV will also have ADAS, similar to the Gloster.
The Majestor will come with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as the Gloster but the power figures remain a mystery. They are expected to remain unchanged, so the Majestor is likely to have two states of tune – 159 bhp with 374 Nm and 213 bhp with 479 Nm. The former will likely have a two-wheel drive layout, while the latter will have a four-wheel drive layout. Both tunes will get an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Prices for MG’s new full-size SUV are expected to start at ₹40 lakh (ex-showroom, India) onwards. Once launched, it will compete with the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan.
