Ola Electric has unveiled its latest Gen 3 range of S1 e-scooters, introducing four distinct models with prices starting from ₹79,999. The new lineup now includes the S1 X, S1 X+, S1 Pro, and a new flagship S1 Pro+ which will set you back by ₹1.70 lakh.
The Gen 3 scooters usher a new platform with significant technological upgrades, featuring mid-drive motors and a new chain final drive system. Ola has also incorporated brake-by-wire technology. The system will use regular hydraulic braking with electrical inputs for better safety as well. The company is slated to introduce the new MoveOS 5 software which will roll out when deliveries of the scooter commence. The latest software will bring forth several features like customisable display layouts and smart parking assist being the two big highlights.
As for the lineup, the S1 X serves as the entry-level model, offering three battery variants: 2kWh at ₹79,999, 3kWh at ₹89,999, and 4kWh at ₹99,999. The S1 X+ is positioned as a mid-range option with a single 4kWh variant priced at ₹1.08 lakh. The S1 Pro comes in two variants: 3kWh at ₹1.15 lakh and 4kWh at ₹1.35 lakh.
The flagship S1 Pro+ tops the range with two variants: 4kWh at ₹1.55 lakh and 5.3kWh at ₹1.70 lakh. It is also notable for being India's first e-scooter with dual-channel ABS, plus with the bigger battery the top-end S1 Pro+ boasts an impressive claimed IDC range of 320 km.
Ola has announced that deliveries for all S1 scooters will commence from mid-February onwards. The current introductory prices will be valid for just the first seven days from launch, post which the scooters are set to become expensive, the exact amount is yet to be specified. Lastly, Ola Electric will retail the new-gen Gen 3 scooters alongside the existing S1 range.
