Samsung is tipped to introduce a video AI feature in the One UI 6.1.1 update.
Google and Samsung are deepening their partnership to develop artificial intelligence (AI) experiences for Android and Galaxy devices. In addition, Samsung is tipped to introduce a video AI feature in the One UI 6.1.1 update.
In a post on social media platform X, Google's Senior Vice President of Devices & Services Rick Osterloh shared an image with Samsung Mobile President TM Roh, confirming their collaboration on new AI features.
Had a terrific conversation with TM and @SamsungMobile leadership. Our partnership has never been stronger. I'm thrilled about our collaboration on AI and the many opportunities ahead for both companies. pic.twitter.com/mOjMer7Sig

"Our partnership has never been stronger. I'm thrilled about our collaboration on AI and the many opportunities ahead for both companies," Osterloh said.
Samsung Mobile reposted the same image, hinting that exciting new AI-powered features are in the works. Google and Samsung's AI partnership began with Circle to Search, which allows users to draw on screens to search. Launched first on the Galaxy S24, it is now gradually expanding to more devices. Samsung recently rolled out its Galaxy AI suite, which includes Live Translation, Generative Edit, and Chat Assist keyboard features.
As per a post by Ice Universe on X, video AI is expected to be a major highlight of the One UI 6.1.1 update, likely with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 being the first phones to get it. While details on the purported "video AI" feature are scarce, it could be similar to OpenAI's video generation model Sora.
Stay tuned for possible AI announcements from Google and Samsung at upcoming launch events, as their deepening partnership looks set to drive more intelligent experiences across Android devices.
Some of these AI features may be unveiled at Google I/O on May 14, when Google is expected to announce Android 15. According to the latest leaks, Samsung could also unveil its new AI features during its Unpacked 2024 event on July 10.
