Chrome users on iOS can now map addresses, create calendar events and more
Google continues to expand its offerings to iPhone and iPad users by introducing new features to Chrome on iOS. These additions aim to enhance productivity and provide a seamless browsing experience. Among the four updates coming to Chrome, users can now map addresses, create calendar events, enjoy better translations, and search using images directly within the browser application.
Chrome on iOS now uses AI to detect addresses on web pages. When you press and hold a detected address, you can view it on a mini Google Maps right within Chrome. This eliminates the need to switch apps to look up an address on a map.
The users can now create Google Calendar events directly in Chrome on iOS. By pressing and holding a detected date, you can add it to your Google Calendar. Chrome automatically creates and populates the calendar event with important details like time, location, and description, eliminating the need to switch apps or manually copy information.
Chrome's AI models have improved, enabling Chrome to detect a webpage's language and suggest translations. If you come across a website in a different language, Chrome will automatically offer to translate it into your preferred language. You can also translate a specific portion of a page using Google Translate directly within Chrome on your iOS device.
With Google Lens integration, you can search using images in Chrome on iOS. Users can use Google Lens to identify plants or translate languages in real-time by long-pressing an image while browsing. Google says, in the coming months, you'll also be able to use your camera to search for new pictures you take and existing photos in your camera roll with the Lens icon in the Chrome address bar.
