Here's everything you need to know about the new Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
Google has unveiled its latest flagship smartphones - the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The new phones are powered by the Google Tensor G3 chip and aim to bring a more personalized and helpful experience through AI-driven features. Here's everything you need to know about the new Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
The Pixel 8 features a 6.2-inch OLED display, while the Pixel 8 Pro sports a larger 6.7-inch OLED display. Both displays are brighter, with up to 1400 and 2400 nits, respectively, and support 120Hz refresh rate.
The Pixel 8 has a satin finish and polished glass back and comes in three colour options - Rose, Hazel, and Obsidian. The Pixel 8 Pro has a polished aluminium frame and matte glass back available in Porcelain, Bay, and Obsidian colours.
The cameras on both phones have received major upgrades. The Pixel 8 Pro has improved low-light performance with a new 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultrawide lens with Macro Focus, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The 10.5MP front camera also gets autofocus for sharper selfies.
The Pixel 8 shares the same primary camera as the Pixel 8 Pro and a new 12MP ultrawide camera. Both phones get new AI-powered editing tools like Best Take and Magic Eraser to help you capture and enhance photos.
The Pixel 8 Pro has a temperature sensor on the rear camera bar. It lets you quickly scan objects to know their temperature, like checking if a pan is hot enough for cooking. Google has also applied to the FDA to enable the phone's Thermometer App to measure human body temperature.
The Pixel 8 series is powered by Google's latest Tensor G3 chip paired with Titan M2 security, which directly enables advanced AI experiences on the device. It also includes features like Audio Magic Eraser to remove distracting sounds in videos.
Later this year, the Pixel 8 Pro will also get Video Boost to enhance video quality through Google's data centres. It brings improvements to colour, lighting, stabilization and night video capture.
Google is providing an industry-leading 7 years of software updates for the Pixel 8 series, including regular Android version updates, monthly security patches and exclusive Feature Drops.
The Pixel 8 starts at ₹75,999, and the Pixel 8 Pro is priced at ₹1,06,999. Both phones can be pre-ordered on Flipkart starting today and will be available for purchase from October 12th in India.
