HERE Introduces EV Charge-Aware Routing to Combat Range Anxiety in India

HERE Technologies, a location data and technology platform, has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) charge-aware routing service in India.

HERE's EV charge-aware routing service offers dynamic routing that considers factors such as battery status, available chargers, and traffic conditions. Some key features include range-along route calculations, charge-aware routing for efficient travel planning, and isoline routing to show reachable areas based on the specified criteria.

In addition, the HERE EV Charge Points service provides real-time information on charging stations across India. The platform offers details on over 10,000 charging stations and more than 12,000 connectors nationwide, including data on opening hours, connector types, availability, and access restrictions.

This launch comes as India's EV market experiences significant growth, with sales nearly doubling in 2023 and projections indicating a 66% increase for 2024, according to the Counterpoint Research. By 2030, EVs are expected to account for almost a third of India's passenger vehicle market.
