Hero Sporty 125cc Scooter Patent Images Surface Online

Amongst the few two-wheeler launches still pending from Hero in this financial year is a sporty 125 cc scooter that we believe could be the Xoom 125. A test mule of the same scooter was spotted a few months ago and now, we have got the design patent images of the same.

The design does seem pretty sharp and focused, something that will definitely get the attention of the younger buyer. The front is sharp and edgy, something similar to what we’ve seen on the Yamaha Aerox 155. The body feels a bit flared and the sharp cuts all across add to the sense of visual drama that Hero is aiming to go for with this 125cc scooter.

Powering this scooter is likely to be the same unit from the Maestro Edge 125 that makes 9 bhp and 10.4 Nm. This engine was pretty sprightly on the traditionally styled scooter, so we don’t quite think performance would be an issue. It wasn’t the smoothest scooter and Hero might have to do some tinkering in that department.

More importantly, the design hints at the scooter rolling on larger rims, perhaps 14 inchers. And the front disc had a petal design. If Hero does manage to deliver the scooter in this guise, it would likely be an awesome handler.
