Both are slated to debut at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi.
Hero MotoCorp is all set to kickstart 2025 with not just one, but two brand new two-wheelers. The first is slated to be the Xtreme 250R, which has already debuted at EICMA 2024. The other will be a first for Hero, an adventure-styled maxi-scooter called the Xoom 160. Just like the Xtreme 250R, the Xoom 160 also made its debut at EICMA, but in 2023. Both products, as well as a few more, are slated to hit production and the official launch has been anticipated to be revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The new Hero Xoom 160 will launch in quite a niche segment, which has the Yamaha Aerox 155 as the only other alternative. But unlike the Aerox 155, which looks more sporty, the Xoom 160 has a distinct ADV-ish appearance. Right from that beak style up front to its tall body design, down to those chunky wheels – every panel screams of ruggedness.
On the features front, Hero hasn’t skipped a bit here. For starters, there’s keyless ignition, and all the functionalities are controlled by a key fob. The fully digital instrument cluster also seems to support Bluetooth connectivity, thereby features like turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS and notification, should be available here. Hero’s i3S silent start tech will also be available here. The Xoom 160 will also be the only scooter in Hero’s portfolio to get a liquid-cooled 160 cc engine that reserves the potential to produce 14 bhp and 13.7 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.
The Hero Xtreme 250R on the other hand looks quite different than its younger sibling, the Xtreme 125R. It gets a large, yet sharply-styled headlight cowl. The body panels have muscular proportions and the bike seen in the image here gets a dual-tonne colour combination. The Xtreme 250R will be powered by a 250 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is good for 300 bhp and 25 Nm. With this kind of performance, it will go up against the KTM 250 Duke and Honda CB300R.
Alongside these two models, Hero MotoCorp is also expected to launch the bigger XPulse 210 and showcase the Karizma XMR 250 at the expo. All of these have already been showcased before at EICMA.
