Hero MotoCorp has hit the bull's eye with the new Xtreme 125R. Launched earlier this year, this 125 cc sporty commuter motorcycle competes in a segment which was dominated by the TVS Raider 125. However, even after producing 10,000 units of the Xtreme 125R per month, Hero MotoCorp is falling short of supply to demand.
Coupled with the fact that the festive season is soon approaching, the Indian two-wheeler major expects that this demand will further increase. So, as a strategy the company plans to increase the production of the Xtreme 125R to 1,000 units per day. Which should bring the monthly output to around 20,000-25,000 units. Inadvertently, the company also expects that this should help reduce waiting time for the motorcycle, which is currently between 20-25 days (in Delhi).

The Hero Xtreme 125R is quite the fun-to-ride motorcycle. Its 124.77 cc, single-cylinder engine produces 11.4 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm at 6000 rpm, and it can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in just 5.9 seconds (claimed). It also serves as a premium offering in the 125 cc segment from Hero to a much younger demographic. This intention is further amplified in how the Hero Xtreme 125R is designed, and the kind of features it comes equipped with.
The Hero Xtreme 125R is available in two variants depending on whether it gets ABS or not. With the former set-up, it is priced at ₹99,500, and without it, the bike costs ₹95,000 (all ex-showroom price, New Delhi).
