The HMD Fusion stands out with its unique bare-back design featuring six specialised smart pins, enabling users to attach various "Smart Outfits" that transform the device's functionality. From gaming controllers to photography-enhanced cases, the Fusion adapts to users' diverse needs.
HMD has collaborated with Digital Turbine and Aptoide to create a dedicated gaming experience. The Aptoide game store includes a specialised section for Fusion Gaming Outfit, allowing users to download controller-specific games seamlessly.
The phone's repairability enables users to replace critical components like displays, batteries, and charging ports using just a screwdriver. This feature not only extends the smartphone's lifecycle but also reduces electronic waste.
First previewed at Mobile World Congress and IFA Berlin, the HMD Fusion represents the company's ambitious attempt to bring modular smartphones from a niche concept to mainstream adoption.
