The Honda Activa Electric will be the first electric scooter in the Indian from any Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer

We already know that Honda will be unveiling its first electric scooter for the Indian market on November 27. With just two weeks remaining for the launch, Honda has released a small teaser of the upcoming electric scooter likely to be called the Activa E or Activa Electric.

From the teaser we can confirm that the upcoming Honda electric scooter will get an LED headlight. While we aren’t completely sure, the headlight seems to be positioned on the apron, unlike the handle bar mounted unit as seen on the current Honda Activa.

We expect the styling of the Honda Activa Electric to be based on the ICE scooter as it’s the most popular scooter in the Indian market and will make the new EV offering familiar to a new audience. What we know is that the Honda electric scooter is likely to get removable batteries, something we have seen on its erstwhile partner, Hero MotoCorp's Vida V1 scooter.

Official specs or details of the Honda Activa E aren’t out yet, but we expect it to have a real-world range of close to 100 km and a top speed of 70 kmph. The above numbers are critical for Honda given the benchmark set by its immediate rivals such as the Ola S1, TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.
