After global recall, Honda now initiates recall for Indian models too.
Honda has announced a recall for the GL1800 Gold Wing and CBR1000RR models in India. This campaign addresses a potential issue with the fuel pump impellers that could deform and lead to engine stalling.
As a precautionary measure, Honda will inspect and replace the fuel pumps free of charge at BigWing Topline dealerships across India. The affected models include the GL1800 Gold Wing manufactured between December 2017 and December 2023. CBR1000RR manufactured between September 2017 and April 2020.
Honda will proactively notify customers via calls, emails, and SMS to schedule an inspection for their vehicle. Customers can also check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Honda BigWing website (https://www.hondabigwing.in/). To avoid any inconvenience, customers are encouraged to book a service appointment in advance.
In the same related issue, Honda has also issued a global recall for certain Gold Wing, CBR1000RR Fireblade, and CBR600RR motorcycles manufactured between 2018 and 2020. This recall, as covered in a previous article, is due to a similar faulty fuel pump component that could lead to engine stalling. The global recall currently affects motorcycles in the United States and Germany.
