Besides that, the bike remains unchanged, both mechanically and aesthetically.
Aside from introducing big premium models like the CB500X, Honda India has not forgotten its smaller capacity models. In this case, it’s the entry-level adventure tourer, the CB200X, which has been silently updated with a new slip and assist clutch feature. This lightens the clutch action, making it a breeze in traffic jams. It carries a price tag of ₹ 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which is the same as before.
Aside from this singular feature addition, the Honda CB200X has remained the same both mechanically and aesthetically. So, it continues to equip the same 184.4 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is good for 17 bhp and 15.9 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Even the colour choices have been carried over with the same three options - Decent Blue Metallic, Sports Red, and Pearl Nightstar.
We wish that Honda had equipped the fun, road-biased ADV with more features. However, it seems that the company feels confident about its current basic list. This includes all-LED lighting and a fully digital LCD cluster with no Bluetooth connectivity.
Sadly, the CB200X remains an able commuter with severe shortcomings when you try to take it for long tours. The motor hasn’t seen a bump in performance or even capability that will help it sustain decent highway speeds.
