Honda Elevate Production Begins In India

Honda Cars India today announced that it has begun production of the Elevate compact SUV from its Tapukara manufacturing facility. India, of course, is the first country to produce this compact SUV and export of the vehicle on the cards as well.

We have already told you that the Elevate will be launched in India in September this year and pricing will be announced then as well. Pre-bookings for the SUV have already begun and Honda says that it has a good response for the vehicle.

Takuya Tsumura, President & CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said “We are extremely proud to be the first country to start the mass production of Elevate and are confident that it will quickly become an important pillar of our business, fostering stronger connections with customers and attracting new members to our Honda family.”

The Elevate is made available with a 1.5-litre i-Vtech petrol engine good enough for 120 bhp and 145 Nm. It’s available in both manual and automatic transmissions.
