Honda Shine 125 Launched At ₹84,493

Honda’s portfolio update spree continues with the arrival of the new Shine 125. Prices for the humble commuter start from ₹84,493 for the drum variant while the disc brake version costs ₹89,245 (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The new trims are ₹1242 and ₹1994 dearer than before.

Even though the simple commuter persona of the Shine 125 is maintained with this update, there are a few bright shades (six of them) on offer with stylish graphics on them. The most impactful update, though, arrives in the form of the retuned OBD-2B-compliant 123.94 cc engine that is pushing out 10.63 bhp and 11 Nm. Needless to say, the idle stop-start system makes its way here as well to improve the frugality score of the bike.

Honda has made an effort to make the Shine 125 a tad bit more stable with a wider 90 mm rear tyre. And upped the convenience quotient with the displaying of data such as real-time mileage, range (distance-to-empty), gear position indicator, Eco riding light and a service due indicator, all of which will be shown on a new fully digital dash. Rounding off, you also get a Type-C USB charging slot.

We expect the Shine 125 to continue being a sales topper. It is after all India’s most preferred 125 cc bike and the updates, even though they aren’t quite as substantial, will enhance its proposition slightly.
