Hyundai said it expects to recover most of the production losses arising from the incident within the next quarter.
Hyundai Motor India on Wednesday said one of its manufacturing facilities in Chennai is expected to return to normal production levels by 22 June following disruptions caused by a fire at a supplier’s plant last week, news agency Reuters reported.
The disruption was linked to a fire at a facility operated by Mobis India, which supplies audio systems and select components to Hyundai Motor India.

The automaker indicated that production at the affected plant is likely to regain pace by 15 June. It added that operations at its other facilities, including a plant in Pune and another unit in Chennai, have remained largely unaffected.
Hyundai said it expects to recover most of the production losses arising from the incident within the next quarter. The company also indicated that it does not anticipate any significant impact on retail sales in June, citing sufficient inventory across its dealer network.
The automaker, known for models such as the Hyundai Creta, maintained that supply continuity has been managed despite the temporary disruption in component availability.
