SUVs

Let’s take a closer look at the sales performance of these models during April-July 2024.

India’s automotive market continues to witness a strong shift toward utility vehicles (UVs), driven primarily by the surging demand for SUVs. According to the latest data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), UVs have emerged as the dominant category, accounting for 63 per cent of total passenger vehicle (PV) sales in the first four months of FY2025. Out of the 868,132 units of UVs sold during this period, the lion’s share comes from the SUV sub-segment, which is increasingly becoming the preferred choice for Indian buyers.
