Hyundai Motor India has introduced a minor update to its popular Verna sedan, adding a fresh exterior colour and a rear spoiler, while also adjusting prices for several variants. The newly updated Verna lineup now comes with an Amazon Grey colour option, taking the total count to eight monotone exterior shades for buyers. The price increase, applicable to all variants except the base model, sees a hike of ₹4,000 across the board, maintaining the entry-level price of ₹11 lakh and raising the cost of the top-end model to ₹17.48 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The new Amazon Grey colour joins Hyundai Verna’s already extensive colour palette while retaining the two existing dual-tone options—Atlas White with a black roof and Fiery Red with a black roof—which remain exclusive to the turbo-petrol variants. In addition to the new colour, Hyundai has added a rear spoiler to the Verna, which has a design reminiscent of aftermarket units and features a split-style look.
Variants | Petrol MT | Petrol CVT | Turbo MT | Turbo DCT |
---|---|---|---|---|
EX | ₹11 lakh | NA | NA | NA |
S | ₹12.05 | NA | NA | NA |
SX | ₹13.08 | ₹14.33 lakh | ₹14.93 lakh | ₹16.18 lakh |
SX (O) | ₹14.76 lakh | ₹16.29 lakh | ₹16.09 lakh | ₹17.48 lakh |
While the entry-level EX variant remains at ₹11 lakh, the Verna’s other variants have seen a uniform price increase of ₹4,000. This includes models equipped with the standard 1.5-litre petrol engine as well as the higher-performance turbo-petrol models. At the top end, the SX(O) DT variant—equipped with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission—now stands at ₹17.48 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India).
Mechanically, the Verna’s engine and transmission options remain the same. It continues to offer two powertrain choices: a 113 bhp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a more powerful 158 bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The standard engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission, while the turbocharged variant is available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
