Indian Roadmaster And Chieftain

This new V-twin engine was developed on the race track for two years for the King Of The Baggers Racing championships.

Indian Motorcycle has updated the Roadmaster and Chieftain by shifting both the cruiser motorcycles to its latest PowerPlus V-Twin platform. Besides gaining a new engine, both bikes have also received new hardware components and features, all of which are aimed to making the bikes comfortable for riders during long distance touring.

Starting with the engine, in the 2025 Roadmaster and Chieftain, Indian Motorcycle has increased the capacity of the new PowerPlus V-Twin engine from 1,768 cc to 1,834 cc. This engine development was closely tied to the brand's success in the 2023 and 2024 King of the Baggers racing series, where Indian secured a record-breaking third consecutive championship victory.

Significant improvements extend to handling and comfort departments as well, with new a 43mm upside-down front fork replacing the previous bulky telescopic unit on both the bikes. The suspension is available with electronic adjustability, which will allow for quick adaptations for passenger or luggage variations. Braking performance is enhanced by radially mounted Brembo calipers with 320 mm semi-floating discs. Riders will also benefit from a substantial 22.7-litre fuel tank, and with the fuel tank filled to the brim the Chieftain weighs 382 kg and the Roadmaster at 423 kg.
