Infosys will help develop Polestar’s future in-car infotainment systems, ADAS, telematics, user experience, and digital services.
Infosys Ltd and Polestar have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to set up a technology hub in Bengaluru. Infosys will develop software and provide R&D, electrical engineering and validation resources for Polestar’s in-car infotainment systems, ADAS, telematics, user experience, and digital services. The technology hub will also support Polestar’s global product management, customer engagement, and corporate operations.
The Swedish EV maker, owned by Volvo, will use Infosys for cloud-native development, testing and data engineering, and will also work with Infosys Living Labs, a team that works on emerging technology and innovation through design. As part of the strategic collaboration, Polestar will also leverage In-tech, a Germany-based specialist mobility consulting and engineering firm acquired by the Indian consulting and outsourcing giant in April this year.

In a statement to the press, Jasmeet Singh, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Manufacturing, Infosys, said “We are excited to announce our partnership with Polestar for their strategic India Tech Hub initiative. We believe that this collaboration will enhance Polestar's digital roadmap by leveraging India's well-regarded software and automotive engineering talent pool. Building on Infosys' extensive experience in automotive engineering, digital transformation, and global delivery leadership, we aim to bring the infrastructure and innovation to co-create next generation EV capabilities. We will work closely with Polestar's global design and development hubs to set new standards in next-gen mobility.”

Sven Bauer, Head of Software, Polestar, said “Polestar is starting a new chapter in the company’s global setup with our partner Infosys in Bengaluru. We look forward to building automotive competence in the Polestar Tech Hub to support our growing vehicle portfolio and new model launches.”
Polestar cars are currently not sold in India and there is no speculation that the company plans to enter the market here in the near future. Parent company Volvo might however introduce products and services that benefit from the new technology hub.
