iQoo has announced the launch of its Neo 9 Pro smartphone on February 22, and teased some of its specifications and design features. In a tweet posted to the company’s official India account, iQoo also confirmed that the device will be available on Amazon.in. Users can sign up to be notified when they can place an order for the Neo 9 Pro and check out more information including specifications and design elements on the ecommerce site’s listing page.
The iQoo Neo 9 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is slightly dated but still extremely powerful. The company promises “exquisite craftsmanship” with what appears to be a dual tone rear panel with red faux-leather and a grey accent panel, plus stitching. It is unclear whether this is only one of multiple colour or material options. Two large “squircle”-shaped camera cutouts can be seen, along with another smaller camera or sensor cutout and an LED flash.
iQoo also clearly describes itself as a sub-brand of Vivo on the listing page, to reassure potential buyers about the number of service centres available across India and the options they have to reach customer care via phone, email, and WhatsApp.
The iQoo Neo 9 Pro is likely to be positioned as a powerful gaming smartphone. The company already sells a phone by the same name in China, but with a MediaTek SoC, which means the rest of its specifications won’t necessarily line up either. It is not yet clear whether iQoo will also introduce a non-Pro model in India. The previous models in this series, the iQoo Neo 7 Pro and iQoo Neo 7, currently sell for Rs. 30,999 and Rs. 24,999 respectively.
