The XUV 7XO, or the production version of the XUV.e8, will make its debut in 2025.

Mahindra is extensively testing the all-electric version of its flagship SUV, the XUV700. While the concept was showcased to the world in 2022, the production version is expected to debut in 2025. Ahead of that, the electric XUV700 has been spotted testing again in Pune.

The concept of the electric XUV700 is called the XUV.e8, but the production version could be renamed XUV 7XO as Mahindra recently trademarked the name. Furthermore, Mahindra has also renamed the XUV300 as the XUV 3XO, the XUV700’s ICE and EV variants could also get the new naming scheme.

The spy shots of the XUV.e8 show that the electric SUV is closer to being production-ready. It has the same taillamps as the XUV700 but a slightly different bumper and reflector design. In profile, the test mule of the electric XUV700 shows a different alloy wheel design compared to the ICE version but Mahindra could add some aero-elements to make it more efficient.

While covered, the XUV.e8 will also get a full-width LED DRL connecting both the headlights, which also have a vertical LED DRL. The fascia design is similar to the XUV.e9 that was also spotted testing earlier this month. Unlike the XUV.e9, the XUV.e8 will have a flatter bonnet design which is similar to the XUV700.

Previous spy shots have also shown that the XUV.e8 will have a triple-screen layout with one for the digital instrument cluster, one for the infotainment system and one for the passenger with various information. It is also likely to get touch-based HVAC controls, a panoramic sunroof and more.

Mahindra hasn’t revealed any powertrain information about the XUV.e8 but has mentioned that the EV will be built on its new INGLO platform. Expect the electric SUV to have a battery pack of up to 80 kWh, an all-wheel-drive system and power outputs of up to 350 bhp.
