Priced from ₹26.70 lakh, the special edition is restricted to 85 units and adds anniversary styling, personalisation packages, and driver-assist safety features to the SUV.
Jeep India has introduced a limited-edition version of the Compass to mark the brand's 85th anniversary, restricting production to just 85 units across the country. Unveiled in Pune on 17 August, the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition is priced from ₹26.70 lakh, ex-showroom, and will be sold through Jeep's dealership network and its website.
The move comes as Jeep, part of the Stellantis group, runs a global celebration of 85 years since the brand's founding. In India, the Compass has occupied a central role in that story for nearly a decade, competing in the crowded mid-size SUV segment against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun and Škoda Kushaq.
Visually, the special edition is set apart by Gloss Black 18-inch alloy wheels and anniversary-specific exterior detailing. Inside, Jeep has gone with an all-black cabin theme offset by Mayan Gold accents and contrast stitching, along with badging that marks out the model's limited-run status.

Beyond cosmetics, the edition bundles a curated set of options under what Jeep calls its 85th Anniversary AXS Personalisation Packages. These include ambient lighting, a sunroof with SkyLounge illumination, a digital inside rear-view mirror, and front and rear dashcams — features aimed at both convenience and occupant safety, an area where Indian buyers have grown increasingly discerning as SUVs have moved upmarket.
"The Jeep Compass has always been central to the Jeep story in India, bringing the brand's legendary capability, design and authenticity to customers who expect more from their SUV," said Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director – Automotive Brands, Stellantis India. "As Jeep celebrates 85 years globally, the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition gives this nameplate a distinctive new expression."
The strategy of using anniversary or limited editions to sustain interest in an ageing model is common across the segment, particularly for nameplates that have not seen a full generational change in several years. For Jeep, whose India volumes remain modest compared with mass-market rivals, a scarcity-driven edition also serves to keep the Compass visible in a market where SUV buyers are increasingly choosing between a widening set of options, from compact crossovers to larger three-row SUVs.
With only 85 units earmarked for the entire country, the edition is unlikely to move volumes meaningfully. Its purpose appears more image-led: reinforcing brand heritage at a time when Stellantis is also expanding its India line-up with hybrid and electric options as part of its broader Dare Forward 2030 strategy. Whether the anniversary edition draws fresh buyers to showrooms or simply rewards existing loyalists will become clearer once deliveries begin.
