Exact prices, colour options, variants and feature lists will be announced at the launch event tomorrow.

Škoda has released a teaser video on social media, showing glimpses of the updated Slavia compact sedan before its official unveiling. The teaser confirms an August 18 date for the launch of the 2026 Škoda Slavia facelift. Updated cabin features and design touches should help keep the Slavia fresh, and a new transmission option is also likely to be offered.

The teaser opens with a silhouette of the compact sedan, which was launched in India in 2021, before moving on to show the iconic Škoda winged arrow badge on the car’s bonnet. We also see quick glimpses of an updated LED tail light cluster, revealing more detail than seen before when a disguised test mule was spotted. There’s a dark chrome garnish around the rear window, and a shark-fin antenna on the back.

The Slavia facelift will likely introduce a new alloy wheel design, and while not immediately visible in the teaser, the front grille and headlights are also expected to be modernised, giving this compact sedan a new yet familiar look for its midlife refresh.

While the interior of the car is not seen at all, this is where a lot of changes are likely to be seen. Buyers can expect a digital driver’s cockpit, updated tech features including the central  touchscreen, and new finishes.

Even though customer preferences are shifting towards SUVs, the Slavia remains popular in its segment along with the closely related Volkswagen Virtus. It also competes with the Hyundai Verna and Honda City, both of which were updated earlier this year.

Škoda is expected to continue offering the Slavia with 113 bhp 1.0-litre TSI and 148 bhp 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines. Interestingly, the former might be offered with a new 8-speed automatic transmission option, as per leaks and reports.

Exact prices, colour options, variants and feature lists will be announced at the launch event tomorrow.
