Jaguar Land Rover India has reported its highest-ever half-yearly retail sales, registering a 36 per cent year-over-year (YoY) growth for the first half of fiscal year 2025 (H1 FY25). With 3,214 units sold, the company has recorded significant sales momentum, further underscored by a 41 per cent YoY increase in the second quarter (Q2 FY25) alone.
The decision to locally produce the full Range Rover lineup in India has been a significant contributor to this growth. According to JLR India’s Managing Director, Rajan Amba, the move has led to a 60 per cent rise in orders for the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. The Defender has also played a crucial role, with its sales growing by an impressive 75 per cent during H1 FY25.
Rajan Amba, MD, JLR India said, “FY25 has been a high point for us so far. Our strategic decision to locally manufacture the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport has yielded impressive results, with orders surging by 60%. The Defender's remarkable 75% growth in H1 FY25 is a testament to its ever-increasing popularity. Our Q2 standalone growth of 41% and highest ever H1 retail numbers reflect this momentum.”
JLR India's healthy order book, which grew by 15 per cent in H1 FY25 compared to the same period last year, is another indicator of strong market demand. As the company enters the festive season, traditionally a time of increased sales in India, JLR India remains optimistic about continuing its upward trajectory in H2 FY25.
Adding to the company’s successes, JLR India recently launched the limited-edition Ranthambore SV Bespoke. All 12 units of the exclusive edition were pre-booked shortly after its unveiling.
