With a significantly lower cost of ownership than its market competitors, these Kia models became more VFM products.
Kia’s popular offerings, the Carens, Seltos, and the Sonet have emerged as the top options that offer the lowest maintenance cost, reveals Frost & Sullivan’s Total Cost Of Ownership (TCO) Benchmark analysis.
As per the report, the Kia Carens was a standout performer in the family mover segment. With both petrol and diesel variants boasting maintenance costs that were 21 percent and 26 percent lower, respectively. The diesel variant in particular was the most cost-efficient and it also had the lowest acquisition cost. The Kia Carens is available with the option of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel motor.

The Seltos on the other hand secured the top position with the overall cost of ownership 17 percent lower than the industry average. The compact SUV is available with both petrol and diesel powertrains, and it also gained a new turbo-petrol variant last year. The Kia Sonet, on the other hand, has 16 percent and 14 percent lower maintenance costs for its petrol and diesel variants and just like the Sonet it is available with three engine options - 1.2-litre NA engine, 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine.
Speaking on the occasion of this announcement, Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head Sales and Marketing, at Kia India, said, “Choosing a Kia isn't just a wise decision for today; it's an investment for the future, given its premiumness, unmatched maintenance and residual costs within their segments."

The Kia Carens is priced from ₹10.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards and it is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The Kia Seltos is priced from ₹10.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards, and the sub-compact Sonet SUV is priced from ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.
