The Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition features cosmetic tweaks limited to the exterior.
Kia India has launched a special edition Kia Sonet, called the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition, based on the HTX trim at a starting price of Rs. 11.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition is available in both petrol and diesel versions, in iMT, DCT, and AT formats. The Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition features cosmetic tweaks limited to the exterior, while the interior comes equipped with the same feature list as the variant it is based on. For the uninitiated, Aurochs was a large wild Eurasian ox, an ancestor of domestic cattle, that was exterminated in 1627.

Let’s talk about the styling, with the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition, the subcompact SUV now features a generous dash of tangerine all across the exterior of the car, so it gets tangerine accents on the Aurochs-inspired skid plates as well as on the blacked-out front grille, with the Aurochs badge in tangerine colour to help differentiate with the standard version. The profile remains identical to the standard version albeit with the introduction of tangerine colour on the wheel cap, side skid plates, and door garnish. At the back, the rear skid plates too receive a touch of tangerine. Kia is offering the Sonet Aurochs Edition in four exterior paint schemes: Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, and Glacier White Pearl.
On the inside, the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition receives a dual-tone black and beige theme with the same set of features offered on the HTX trim. So, the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition comes equipped with an electric sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, drive & traction modes, automatic climate control, cruise control, and four airbags among others.
Under the hood, the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition comes powered by the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel options, with iMT as standard along with an optional 6-speed automatic unit and the 7-speed DCT unit. The turbo petrol unit generates 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque, while the diesel mill produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The Kia Sonet competes with other subcompact SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite in India.
