Bookings for the E-Luna has already commenced for a token amount of ₹500.
Kinetic Energy has confirmed that the E-Luna is set for launch on February 7. Bookings for the same had already commenced from January 26 onwards. However, the upcoming E-Luna is already listed on e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart, and with that, its starting ex-showroom price of ₹71,999 has also been revealed. Now whether this is a dummy price or there’s something special planned for the day remains to be seen.
Sticking to its moped roots, the upcoming E-Luna will continue with its rugged and practical body shape. Although details about the E-Luna’s chassis are yet to be revealed, it sports a telescopic fork and dual-shock absorbers and will have a loading capacity of 150 kg, according to the listing on the e-commerce websites.
Furthermore, the moped will be powered by a 2 kWh Li-ion battery paired to a 2 kW electric motor which in turn produces 22 Nm of torque at the wheel. Despite its utilitarian applications, the E-Luna will be able to do 110 km of range on a single charge and will be able to do a top speed of 50 kmph.
Being an all-electric moped, the E-Luna will stand to gain some new technology as well. It will get a fully digital instrument cluster for starters that will display key information like battery state of charge, high beam indicator, speedometer, etc. In addition to that E-Luna will also feature side stand sensors, a detachable rear seat to accommodate any extra luggage, and a spacious footboard as well. The last design will pop up mainly due to the battery pack that it will accommodate. There will also be a USB charging port available on board.
On Amazon, the E-Luna is listed with two colour options - Mulberry Red and Ocean Blue. Whether Kinetic Green introduces any new options or not remains to be seen.
