Both bikes are slated to launch in India next month.
If you are planning to buy either the KTM 390 Adventure S or the 390 Enduro R – then there’s good news for you — a few KTM dealers across the country, including some in Mumbai and Delhi, have unofficially started to accept bookings for the new bikes. However, prices for both are still under wraps and KTM India is set to reveal them only next month. Both bikes will command premium asking prices for the kind of features and upgrades they offer, so we would suggest holding on to your enthusiasm until KTM launches both bikes officially.
Moreover, booking amounts for the bikes are also across different dealerships. Once the bikes launch, these amounts will be standardised too.
As for the bikes, the KTM 390 Adventure S stands out with its 21/17-inch wheel combination, designed to appeal to riders seeking versatility for both on-road and off-road performance. This model is positioned to compete directly with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, however, pricing-wise, we expect the orange bike will be pricier.
On the other hand, the KTM 390 Enduro R is a more focused bike that will fit the bill for anyone into pure off-road hooliganism, and it looks unlike anything ese in the sub-400 cc space in India. From knobby tyres to a sleek athletic body with minimal panels covering its body, the new KTM 390 Enduro R will surely carve out a unique niche in the motorcycle space in the country.
Both bikes are powered by the same 399 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that KTM India debuted with the 390 Duke. While engine output might be the same for both new bikes, we expect there will be differences in their drive characteristics to suit their respective target buyers.
