Fresh funding to accelerate Ultraviolette’s EV portfolio, manufacturing scale-up and global ambitions.
Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive has raised $85 million (₹813 crore) in a new funding round, as the Bengaluru-based company prepares to scale manufacturing, develop its next generation of EV platforms and expand into more international markets. The latest funding round was led by deep-tech fund Yali Capital and TDK Ventures. Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International, has also invested in the company and joined Ultraviolette as an advisor. Existing and long-term investors participated in the round as well.
The fresh capital arrives as Ultraviolette prepares for a major increase in production. The company recently announced a new manufacturing facility designed to scale its annual production capacity to 500,000 units. A portion of the $85 million investment will be used to ramp up production of Ultraviolette's existing electric motorcycles, the F77 and X-47 Crossover, while also preparing for its next wave of products.
The upcoming portfolio includes the Tesseract electric scooter and Shockwave enduro motorcycle. Ultraviolette says the new funding will help it scale production across these models to cater to growing demand in India and overseas. The Tesseract, which is expected to launch in early 2027, will also mark Ultraviolette's expansion into the electric scooter segment thereby making the brand more accessible to the masses. In fact, the company has received over 70,000 bookings since the unveiling last year.
Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International commented, “What I really like about Ultraviolette is the combination of deep engineering expertise, strong IP, and the willingness to take on genuinely difficult problems. They have built the technology from first principles and are focused on creating something that is truly differentiated for the long term.”

Beyond expanding production, Ultraviolette plans to use the funding to accelerate development of its next generation of global electric vehicle platforms. The company has built several key EV technologies in-house, including battery systems, power electronics, vehicle architecture and software. Ultraviolette says its battery technology currently spans architectures ranging from 48V to 400V, allowing it to develop electric vehicles across different categories and performance levels.
