There’s no compromise in any regards for the ₹18,000 discount.
The KTM 390 Duke is a remarkably thrilling motorcycle, winning the 2024 Bike of the Year TOTM. Nearly a year and a half after the bike’s launch, KTM has revised its prices. And unlike usual, when prices go up, KTM India (credit to Bajaj) has slashed the asking price from ₹3.13 lakh to ₹2.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Yes, the Duke is ₹18,000 more affordable and the sweeter part is that there is no form of compromise.
Like on the 390 Adventure series where the more affordable 390 Adventure X has lower spec components and lesser electronics for a lower price tag, there is no such de-speccing for the Duke. You will still continue to get the 399 cc mill pushing out over 45 horses and 39 Nm with the quickshifter and IMU-assisted electronic rider aids as standard. The adjustable suspension and radial front braking hardware remains as well and so will the Metzeler Sportec M5 radial tyres.
KTM has been struggling globally with lots of pending inventory and a major financial crisis. Similarly, the 390 Duke did quite well to begin with but sales have declined slightly. With this lowered sticker price, we think that it will once again find a lot more takers than before.
And it shouldn’t be surprising why KTM chose to announce the price revision now. This might be a great Valentine’s Day gift for the enthusiast who was in two minds about buying the Duke or the upcoming Aprilia Tuono 457. The naked version of the RS 457 is set to arrive on February 17, and the asking price is likely to be around ₹4 lakh. Hence, making the Duke almost a lakh less than the Tuono will help the Austrian’s case a lot more now.
