Automobili Lamborghini has announced outstanding financial results for the first half of 2024, marking record achievements in-car deliveries, revenues, and operating income. The Italian luxury carmaker delivered 5558 vehicles, generating €1,621 million in revenue—an impressive 14.1 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023. The operating profit soared to €458 million, setting a new benchmark for the company.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed his pride in the company's performance, attributing the success to the strong market reception of their three flagship models: the Revuelto, Urus, and Huracán. "We are extremely proud of the results we achieved in the first half of 2024," Winkelmann said. "We are going through a pivotal phase, supported by the largest investment in the company's history, with the main objective of expanding our product offering."
The company's profitability reached 28.2 per cent, a clear indicator of the effective strategy and improved balance between deliveries and financial performance. Lamborghini's growth trajectory appears solid, with a robust order bank that assures continued strong performance even as the company transitions to hybrid models.
Paolo Poma, Managing Director and CFO of Automobili Lamborghini, emphasised the brand's strength in the luxury and the super sports segment. "The positive trend and strong order bank bolster confidence so that, even in a year marked by the transition to hybrid, we can confirm the growth of the key financial and business metrics."
The distribution of deliveries was well-balanced across Lamborghini’s three key regions: EMEA (2498 cars), the Americas (1849 cars), and APAC (1211 cars). The United States led individual markets with 1621 deliveries, followed by Germany (595), the United Kingdom (514), Japan (354), China (including Hong Kong and Macao) (337), and Italy (268).
The Revuelto model, with its current order bank, projects a wait time of more than two years, showcasing its high demand. Orders for the Huracán cover the entire production until the line closure in December. The recently unveiled Urus SE has also garnered significant customer interest, with orders accounting for nearly one year’s output.
Lamborghini's Direzione Cor Tauri program continues to drive the company's commitment to decarbonization, making 2024 a landmark year in this journey. A significant milestone is set for August 16, during Monterey Car Week, where Lamborghini will unveil the successor to the Huracán. This new High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) will complete the hybridisation of Lamborghini’s range, featuring an innovative twin-turbo V8 engine coupled with a hybrid system.
