A total of 113 units in India are involved in this recall.
Lexus India has announced a voluntary recall for certain Lexus LS500, 500h, NX, and RX models. This recall affects vehicles manufactured between April 20, 2022, and August 9, 2023, including:
- Lexus LS500 and 500h: April 20, 2022 – August 9, 2023
- Lexus NX: January 17 – February 24, 2023
- Lexus RX: May 9 – August 8, 2023
A total of 113 units in India are involved in this proactive recall. The LS, however, was discontinued a while back and is not available in the country. The purpose is to inspect and potentially replace the front-view and/or rear-view cameras due to a manufacturing issue.

The affected vehicles have cameras designed to display images from the front and rear of the vehicle. However, due to insufficient laser welding of the camera case by the supplier during a specific production period, there is a risk that the camera case may separate under external stress over time. This could allow water to leak into the camera, potentially causing a short circuit. If this occurs, the cameras may fail to display images, compromising the driver's visibility of the areas in front of and/or behind the vehicle.

Although no incidents have been reported, Lexus is taking these preventive measures to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
