The special bike rally was organised to spread the message of sustainability and promoting electric mobility.
Madras Sappers (Madras Engineer Group), among the most decorated and prestigious regiments of the Indian Army, organised a special bike rally to promote electric mobility and sustainability. Joining hands with Madras Sappers was Indian startup Ultraviolette which provided its F77 Mach 2 bikes for the rally. The unique electric bike rally had started on November 16 from four different locations which were Kanyakumari, Belgavi, Hyderabad, and Trivandrum.
The rally finished at Madras Engineering Group Centre (MEG Centre) in Bengaluru on November 21 which also marked the 244th Raising Day of the Madras Engineer Group. What made it even more special is that the ride also commemorated the 25th anniversary of India’s victorious efforts in the Kargil War in which the Indian Army successfully defeated the Pakistani armed forces.
20 Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 electric motorcycles were ridden in the rally and it was piloted by officers and soldiers from the Madras Sappers. In their 2,000 km journey, the soldiers and officers rode across 20 cities across five southern Indian states spreading the message of sustainability, saving the environment and electric mobility.
Speaking about the electric bike rally with the armed forces, Narayan Subramaniam, Co-Founder and CEO of Ultraviolette commented, "We are extremely proud to partner with the Madras Sappers for this historic rally. The F77 Mach 2 represents the cutting-edge of sustainable mobility and seeing it alongside the brave soldiers of the Madras Sappers, who embody courage and dedication, is an inspiring moment for us,"
The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is the second generation of the electric motorcycle which was launched earlier this year. While visually the Mach 2 is similar to its predecessor, UV engineers have improved the performance of the bike and also range. Despite the above, the Ultraviolette Mach 2 is cheaper than the older bike as the company managed to optimise its manufacturing costs. Ultraviolette also announced at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show the commencement of its European sales.
