Mahindra Auto has reported substantial growth across various segments for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025, marking its highest-ever Q1 volumes. The company sold 212,000 vehicles, reflecting a 14 per cent year-on-year increase, driven by robust consumer demand. A significant contributor to this growth was the SUV segment, with volumes reaching 124,000 units. In response to the rising demand, Mahindra is set to enhance its SUV production capacity from 49,000 units per month to 64,000 units per month by the end of FY25, ensuring better supply to meet consumer needs.
In the agricultural sector, Mahindra continues to lead the tractor market with a commanding 44.7 per cent market share, up 180 basis points from the previous year. This reinforces the company's position as a preferred choice for farmers. In the electric mobility sector, Mahindra's electric three-wheelers achieved a market share of 43.4 per cent, establishing the company as a frontrunner in the electric vehicle (EV) segment.
Financially, Mahindra Auto reported a 39 per cent increase in standalone Profit Before Interest and Tax (PBIT), reaching ₹1,798 crore. This improvement in profitability, alongside a 180 basis points rise in margins to 9.5 per cent, is attributed to higher sales volumes and operational efficiencies. Consolidated revenue for the quarter rose by 16 per cent to ₹19,776 crore, while consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) grew by 35 per cent to ₹1,330 crore, excluding previous year gains from KG Mobility.

Looking ahead, Mahindra is set to launch the much-anticipated Thar Roxx, a 5-door version of its popular off-roader, on August 15. Additionally, the company's increased production capacity has significantly reduced waiting periods for several key models, including the XUV 3XO, Scorpio-N, XUV700, and the 3-door Thar, addressing a critical customer concern.
